The rich kids from Los Angeles down Toronto 54 in game two of their three game tussle.

John Mills picked up win number three out of the bullpen this season in relief of Tim Hulihan. Mills made his 9th appearance all in relief and has yet to allow a run in 11.2 innings. Over the past two season the right hander has been a bell-cow in the pen for Los Angeles appearing in 85 games over two seasons. Scott Jarvis worked one inning in relief of Bobby Smith (8 innings 9 hits 4 runs/3 earned 2 BB/5SO) AND WAS TAGGED WITH THE LOSS, 3-2.

John Campanis hit two home runs his sixth and seventh this season. His first came as the game's lead off batter and the second in the 9th inning proved to be the winning run.

Roy That his 2nd this season for Toronto, a three run homerun, in the 4th inning.

Chicago 8 Washington 1

Lance Picinich pitched his second straight complete game victory in four starts. He had two no-decisions in his first two starts this season.

In this game he allowed six hits and 1 run walked three fanned three after posting similar statistics in his first win; 9 innings 6hits 1 run (earned) 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.

That was a 6-2 victory for Chicago, this game saw even more runs scored and mostly by the homerun.

Chicago jumped on Washington starter Porter Barnicle for four runs on four hits and one walk in the inning. Picinich, Wally Householder and Frank Howell all singled to plate the first run. Zulueta hit a long sacrifice fly that was caught in right field scoring Householder easily and Earl Sellers hit a home run that sent the two runners on base trotting home.

The 7th inning was almost a repeat affair. Householder and Howell both singled and Sellers unloaded his second three run shot of the game.

Joe Hershey singled and scored a run on a Hal Campbell two-bagger in the 8th inning following Washington scoring its lone run in the top half of the inning.
