Would appreciate suggestions on whether to keep this SP in the minors for another year or move him up to the Majors. Was and still am developing a lot of players in the minors so bumped him to the Majors last year after he started 1/9 conversions in minors. Once in majors he went 1/39. Birthday is Sept so assume he'll convert better in minors as 22. Would he be better in minors or majors?September 15, 2017 at 02:40AM View BBCode
First of all, he is OS 23, so there's that. The improvement rate for pitchers is generally better in the minors up to OS 25, particularly when you consider that you can get 60+ IC's down in the minors vs. about 50 tops in the majors and that a higher percentage of major league chances are diverted to endurance. If you want higher endurance, bring him up younger, if you need the cp's, bring him up younger, if you want to simply maximize his velocity/control improves, leave him down.September 15, 2017 at 03:45PM View BBCode
At OS23, and having a lot of guys to develop, I'd play him for about half a season in the majors. You'll get 25 ICs that will all go to velocity or control.September 15, 2017 at 04:08PM View BBCode
Those B+/B+ guys do about what you got from him. If he has development left you should try to get something to mid A- at least.Pages: 1
