The Chicago Americans, Ernie Lamb, toying with a few one and two hitters, finally threw one:

Sean Baldwin no hits BAL, 6/13/71 (A)

August 08, 2005 at 12:32PM View BBCode

26 yr old Sean Baldwin (10-4, 2.96) throws a no-hitter against his 23 yr old former teammate, Danny Judd (4-6, 4.24), as the Boston Cream (43-21, 2nd) defeats the Baltimore Savants (36-28, 4th), 2-0. Baldwin and Judd were each throwing no-nos, when 41 yr old C Joe Moore lead off the bottom of the 6th with a walk. Moore stole 2nd and was bunted over to 3rd by Baldwin. Mel Daviault struck out (one of Judd's 9 victims), but the MVP candidate Joe Daley broke up the no-no and the shutout with a double. The Cream added another run in the 7th with a Bernie Armas triple and a Ralph Brady SF.

Baldwin only struck out three batters, but he pitched to the minimum 27 Savants. A one-out walk in the 4th to Buck Rodgers was the only baserunner, and he was promptly erased with a double-play.

Wild and Wooly no-hitter, Thunder over Cream

December 19, 2005 at 01:17AM View BBCode

8/22/77: (AA) The Thunders' (70-54) Otto Bransfield (7.1 IP), Harry Elliott (0.1 IP), Ken Fisher (0.1 IP) and Don Tobin (1 IP) team up to no-hit the struggling Cream (55-69), winning the game, 5-3. The Cream had no-hits (obviously) but had plenty of base runners, as the four Thunder pitchers walked eight, and also hit a batter. Five of the walks and the hit batsmen occurred in the 8th inning, when the Cream scored all their runs. Sean Altobelli had a big day for the Thunder, belting 3 HRs and a 2B in 4 ABs. The win was costly for the Thunder as Bransfield left the game due to injury and will be lost for the next 30 games. The Cream continue to be stuck in 7th place, and appear to be heading for A ball next season.

Monk Dubiel, of the Rounders, spun a no hit game against the 44's. He was 1 walk short of a perfect game.

http://www.simdynasty.com/boxscore.jsp?boxscoreid=4533906&cityid=15

In Monk's next start against the Goombas he allowed just one hit.

Then he followed up his streak of allowing just one hit over 18 innings by getting injured for 28 days in a 4-8 loss against the Wind in Chicago.

Another no-no by the Toester!

April 27, 2006 at 12:12AM View BBCode

09/01/83: The Cream's Berndt Toeste, the Aruban Barbecue, pitches his 2nd career no-hitter, this time shutting down the Savants bats, 8-0. Berndt wasn't sharp, walking 7 batters, but he struck out 9. An additional batter reached due to a error by 3B Buzz Ochoa. SS Eric Clapton was the offensive star, clubbing two 2-run homers for his 38th and 39th of the year. Sophomore LF Perk O'Lait was on board for both of Clapton's bombs, and went 4-4 with two doubles and a RBI.

5/18/85: Eddie Wheat and Roy Sykes of the Shooting Stars combine for a no hitter against the Smitties in the Majors. Wheat pitched 8.1 innings, walking 5 and striking out 11. Sykes retired the last 2 batters in relief of Wheat after an error and a walk put runners at first and second with one out in the ninth.

Brian Stoner then hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth for a 1-0 Shooting Stars win.

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=2950449]Joe Getraer[/url], the ace and Sergeant of the Chumps (kinda like a captain, but Ponch and Baker like to call him Sarge) tossed a CG No hitter, yielding just 4 harmless walks.

Getraer is in the prime of his career. He has won the CY award in 4 of the last 5 years (coming in 2nd once to a teammate) and winning 4 rings in his 6 consecutive trips to the WS.

2 no hitters:

The Chumps' various championship streaks have come to an end (9 straight ALCS wins, 5 WS, etc). Clearly the sun has set on our ability to compete at a top level, but our elder statesmen have made a statement that they still have some special performances in them.

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/boxscore.jsp?boxscoreid=6772152&cityid=2]Game 143, Boston Chumps vs Washington Lunatics, 9/12/1998[/url], [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=2666053]David Keatley[/url] walks 2 and strikes out 8 en route to his first career no hitter.

Note: These mark the 8th & 9th no hitters for my teams since joining SD:
BRL: Owen Cunningham
ASL: Bo Baracus (3, including 1 perfect game)
OCL: Joe Getraer, Jake Brock, David Keatley, Mickey Warstler (2)
